Reducing input products

  • Doing more with less !

I take concrete measures to help you limit the use of plant protection products in your vineyards to the absolute minimum. There are several advantages to this: less environmental impact, less residue in the wines, improved grape quality, and an added economic benefit, not to mention the benefits for your health and that of your friends and loved ones.

A necessary and inevitable change

Viticulture, which represents a little over 3% of utilized agricultural land, consumes nearly 20% of plant protection products in France (in tonnage). The Ecophyto 2 plan is aimed at a 25% reduction of these products by 2020, and 50% by 2025. There are also strong societal expectations. Consumers and local residents are hoping for a reduction in residues and cleaner viticulture. The objective of this approach is to reduce the use of plant protection products to an absolute minimum, particularly by targeting conventional products. However, this cannot be achieved to the detriment of your activity. My objective: make this “constraint” an “opportunity” for development!

Comprehensive support

The support I propose is based on the regular monitoring of your vineyards. Before considering treatments, I use careful analysis and precise observations to detect and correct imbalances in the soil and vines, to make them less sensitive to pests. The protection strategies are established following a precise evaluation and take your organizational constraints into account. I prioritize the use of organic and biocontrol solutions. On the other hand, I avoid the use of “heavy” CMR products that present ecotoxicological risks. After each visit, I prepare a report presenting my observations and recommendations, as well as all the regulatory aspects, in conformity with the requirements of the ECOPHYTO II plan. At the end of the season I will provide you with a final review. I explain and give an overview of the control strategies that have been employed. We then establish the guidelines and objectives for the next campaign.

EVAGRO is accredited by the DRAAF (Regional Directorate of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry) for Independent Consultancy on the Use of Plant Protection Product under the registration number AQ02104. I hold an Individual Professional Certificate in Plant Protection Products entitling me to provide Consultancy on the Use of Plant Protection Products (No. OF-0527-20060).

  • Advantages

  • I work with a partner laboratory to analyse and search for potential residues from plant protection products. Testing for the presence of 85 molecules showed that none were detected.
